Local 139 offers a wide range of training opportunities within it's five year apprenticeship program to become an inside wireman.


Course material includes, but is not limited to:


  OSHA 10 and 30                            Photovoltaics and Solar Installations

  Electrical mathematics                   Instrumentation

  Conduit Bending                           

  Blueprint reading

  Ohm's Law

  National Electrical Code

  Test instruments


  Branch circuits and distribution

  AC Theory

  DC Theory


  Fiber Optics



  Motor Controls

  Programmable Logic Controllers

  Fire Alarm

  Security Systems

  High Voltage

  Low Voltage


Classes are a requirement for advancement and for working in the field.  Classes run from Sept. to May, two nights per week.


We are subject to New York State Apprenticeship rules and regulations through the New York State Dept. of Labor.  Local Union oversight is through a joint apprenticeship committee made up of local employers and union members.
